It’s almost cold and flu season. You know what that means? Man colds. Oh the dreaded man cold. Ladies you know what I’m talking about.
Before I know it I’ll be hearing the phrase “Honey I feel like I’m dying.” This year we’re doing things different. I am preparing for man cold season early. I shop at my local Walgreens on occasion for miscellaneous items like hair dye or medicine. Now I have even more incentive to shop at Walgreens. Walgreens has introduced the new Walgreens Balance Rewards Loyalty Card. In addition to receiving Walgreens Rewards every time I get 5,000 points on select items I also get the best Walgreens savings I can. It’s a win-win situation.
Signing up for a Walgreens Balance Rewards card is easy. You can either sign up in store or online. Because I hate carrying extra cards I decided to sign up through the Walgreens Mobile App for Android. Sign up was a breeze using the mobile app. It took literally less than 5 minutes before I had my very own balance rewards card to call my own. The Walgreens Mobile App for Android made it easy to prepare for my shopping trip. I could make a shopping list, view weekly ads, and inventory in my own local store. Of course you can also view how many Balance Reward points you have as well.
When I went to Walgreens I was blown away at the savings I made that day. I typically don’t shop for cold and flu items until much later in the season. Walgreens must have known other women such as myself were preparing for another man cold season. Take a look at these cough drops I picked up up for $.99. They were even buy 1 get 1 free. In my eyes I was getting two bags of cough drops for around $.50. That’s a steal!
That wasn’t the only place I saved either. I got a combo pack of day & nightime multi-symptom cold & flu syrup for only $10.99 AND I even received 1,500 Balance Rewards Points. I got another 400 points for purchasing a combo pack of Kleenex boxes. To top it all off I even received 100 points I wasn’t expecting with a container of cough syrup.
I was able to get some great savings while accumulating a total of 2,000 Balance Rewards Point just for buying the items I need for the dreaded man cold season. I’m almost halfway to my first $5.00 Walgreens Reward. There are so many ways to earn rewards with Walgreens. I’m sure my next shopping trip will get me past 5,000 points. I’m planning on using my first reward for a little special something for me. Hey – Don’t judge me. It’s man cold season after all. A woman has to live a little.

I found a lot of great deals at Walgreens, too, and stocked up on a lot of vitamins and stuff so hopefully we can avoid Cold & Flu season altogether.
Oh Cold Season!!! It seems to never leave our house! I need to sign up for this balance rewards system, because we need to shop those awesome cold season sale items, and the reward system would definitely come in handy with how often we have to buy those products. lol.

I love this app! AND Walgreens now carries Grapefruit Seed Extract which we take daily to keep the sickies away. Mike has had ONE cold since we have been together and I was ready to kill him to put him out of MY misery LOL
