Overcoming Disaster.. One More Time..

I’m not dead. I promise!

As you might recall me posting on my Facebook a few weeks ago I’ve been dealing with morning sickness that has been much worse than while I was pregnant with Leo. This pregnancy has literally sucked the energy out of me. By the time I started getting my energy back I started working on remodeling my design website (more info on that later!). On June 13th my life decided to take my blog’s tag line more seriously than I wanted. I’ve had the luxury of my parents living right across the street from me for about a year now. It’s been a blessing for quite some time because if I needed help with Leo my mom would come over and babysit or if my parents needed help they would easily have myself or my husband. On June 13th right as I was going to bed my mom ran over and was panicked. My dad was on the ground in their bedroom and unable to talk.  The image of my dad on the ground unable to speak and the look of fear in his eyes will never leave me.   My dad suffered a massive stroke to the left side of the brain. He has expressive aphasia (unable to talk/write/read), and the right side of his body is paralyzed. The doctors said he should have died.

Needless to say the last two and a half weeks have been very chaotic. I’m pretty sure that’s an understatement.

So what was I doing the last two and a half weeks? I’ve been with my mom everyday. Our local hospital didn’t have a neurologist so my dad was transferred to a hospital in Joplin. Dad spent 5 days in the ICU before being transferred to a regular patient room. My father was approved to go to an inpatient rehabilitation unit on June 24th.  Everyday is getting a little bit better for dad but he is so frustrated. He has every right to be.

Now that things are getting a little bit easier I can get back to blogging and back to designing. I have been working on a remodeling project at Desleo Designs. I will be offering premade Wordpress designs and custom designs. I’m also going to be offering a wide selection of freebies too like social media icons, disclosure images, and much more.

I’m so sorry for disappearing for so long. Life loves to throw curve balls.
