Nuby Teething Toys: Cute & Functional for Your Little Drooler

Have I showed you guys my son’s pearly whites? He started working on these two when he was 4 months old. They came in around the first week of August. The months leading up to these two teeth was not pretty. The last week  before they finally broke through the gums was an utter nightmare. Leo was so miserable and I felt utterly helpless. But alas my son’s two teeth are here. They’re perfect for gnawing on mommy’s fingers. It’s true.

Leo's Teeth

Being the naive first time mom I am I figured my son would have a break between teeth.  Boy, was I wrong. My son is working on even more teeth. When my son is home we mostly resort to him being in only his diaper because he’s soaked his clothes within an hour. How can so much drool come out of such a small baby? It surprises me every day. Have you ever held your child for a few minutes and then realize your arms, legs, pants, and floor are dripping in a giant drool puddle? I wish I was exaggerating.

When I was selected as a Nuby Mommy Blogger  I was originally most excited for their sippy cups, bottles, and feeding utensils. I trust Nuby with my son’s feeding news.  As I’ve been working with Nuby I am learning a lot about company and I am loving them more everyday. I thought they really only specialized in feeding. Did you know they have a great assortment of Teethers & Toys? Where I live at I’ve only seen a teething ring and a toy. If you take a glance at their website Nuby has a large assortment of teething & development toys.  They’re adorable for both girls and boys.

When I learned about Nuby’s Teething Toys I knew I had to check them out for my son’s sake. When he’s not eating, or sleeping he’s chewing & drooling. I wish he would end up getting all of his teeth in at the same time so teething can stop.  Until then I need to find toys and teethers to help my little drooler be a bit more comfortable. Lucky Nuby has me covered. I was sent the Look at Me Mirror Toy, Nuby Teething Blanket, and the Flip Flop Teether Book .

Nuby Teething Toys

Here’s what Nuby has to say about the Nuby Look at Me Mirror Toy:
This Mirror Toy provides multiple ways for your baby to Teethe & Play™ at the same time! Babies love to look at themselves in mirrors- and this one is perfectly sized for them to hold. It’s great for encouraging their eye-hand development. This toy also includes a variety of materials and textures, such as pûrICE™ Gel and crinkle fabric.

Nuby Teething Mirror Toy

The Nuby Mirror Toy was my son’s favorite out of all three of the teething toys for playing with. He wasn’t really big into chewing on it at this time, but that may change in the future. When Leo would teethe, he would teethe on the crinkle fabric the most. He spent most of his time looking at his handsome self in the mirror as seen below.

I apologize for not being able to show the packaging of the Nuby Teething Blankie. I fully intended to! My son chewed all over the packaging while I was getting another cloth diaper prepped for him. I wish I had my camera on me when I found him. He was sitting up naked waving the blanket around while growling. Everyday is a new day with Leo.

Nuby Teething Blankie
Here’s what Nuby has to say about the Teething Blankie:
The Nûby™ Teething Blankie is designed to comfort and soothe your toddler through the teething process. The multiple teething surfaces on each corner allow your baby to chew and cut their first teeth, relieving sore and sensitive gums. The blanket crinkles and squeaks with a gentle squeeze of the soft fun characters and helps stimulate your baby’s senses and imagination.

Even though the description says it’s meant for toddlers my 8 month old son loves this blanket for teething & playing. Just because some items say they’re meant for a certain age doesn’t necessarily mean you have to wait until that age to use them. Every baby is different.  The only thing Leo hasn’t mastered yet is getting the monkey to squeak but he’s trying!

It was really hard getting a good photo of Leo playing with the Teething Blankie. In between waving and teething every picture I took resulted in blur. That’s alright though because it reassures me he’s interested in the Teething Blankie for both teething & playing.

The final Teething Toy I got to review is the Flip Flop Teether Book.  My son was eager to get the packaging like he did the Mirror Toy.

Nuby Flip Flop Teether Book

Here’s what Nuby has to say about the Flip Flop Teether Book:
The Flip Flop™ Teether book has everything you need to stimulate your baby’s senses and imagination. The pages are packed with fun from crinkle noises that develop touch and hearing, to teething edges that soothe and comfort your baby’s sensitive gums. Each page tells a short story and the soft plush character head squeaks when pressed.

Isn’t the horse adorable? If I had the sewing skills I’d love to re-create the Flip Flop horse as a giant stuffed plush.

I love that it’s a teether, toy, and book all in one. The only part of the toy I found slightly difficult was squeezing for a squeak. The Teething Blankie’s squeak was much easier to squeeze to get a squeak than the Flip Flop Teether Book. Leo’s hands will need to be a little bit bigger to be able to get the toy to squeak. Out of all three toys Leo played & teethed on the Flip Flop was his least favorite.  Leo lost interest shortly after I presented to him to play & teethe with. He does enjoy when I sit down and read the story inside the Flip Flop. The pages inside are really colorful. I don’t believe there is anything majorly wrong with the product. I’m kind of sad Leo plays with the Flip Flop Teether Book the least. I think what it boils down to is that my son is in a stage where he likes smaller toys he can easy pick up and wave. Every time he tried to pick up the Flip Flop horse he did drop it. I’m not giving up hope on the Flip Flop Teether Book. There are other toys I have presented Leo in the past he wasn’t interested in because he was too young. I believe the Flip Fop Teether Book is following the same path as those other toys.

So there you have it. The Teething Toys in my review are only 3 of the large assortment of Teething Toys Nuby has available. Regardless of my son not being interested in one of the items, I was happy with all three Teething Toys. Each of them were different in their own way. Nuby is making comforting our little drooler’s gums creative, cute, fun, and functional.

  4. My kids were never into teething toys. They preferred to teethe on their hands, my hands, and the furniture. I’m pretty sure I gave birth to beavers instead of human children because they are the first human children I’ve ever met who could resist the magic of the nuby teether!

  5. My lil guy loves the teething blanket as well! I also found another Nuby teether that he likes even more! I wish I knew what it was called but it is made of a soft rubber material and has rubber bristles on one end that feels really good on his gums. I fully understand the diaper baby! My son usually soaks his clothes too so he stays mostly in a diaper!

  6. Oh, those look like fun. Bummed I missed the giveaway! I could use this for upcoming baby!!! I hate the teething stage! :(
