Not too long ago I finally jumped into the world of cloth diapering with Leo. Aside with a lessons learned about cloth diapers I have been very satisfied with cloth diapering. I love having that peace of  mind that I’m helping the environment, and provided my son comfort. I have a few pocket diapers I got on my own which got me started in my cloth diapering journey. Today I wanted to share with you my very first experience with a All in One, otherwise known as AIO, Cloth Diaper. The lovely ladies at Thanks Mama sent me one to review.

I’m going to try to give you guys the best explanation I can give for those who are about as lost as I have been learning about cloth diapering. I’m still very much a cloth diapering newbie so please do your research on cloth diapering for more in-depth information. I personally love the benefits of cloth diapering.  There are various types of cloth diapers. I am currently using pocket diapers. A pocket diaper is a cloth diaper that leaves an opening inside the diaper for you to insert an absorbent material. You can get pocket diapers in different sizes, different colors, different fabrics, and different ways to snap or velcro the diaper on your child. The absorbent material I’m stuffing in Leo’s diapers are microfiber inserts. Microfiber inserts but there are various kinds with different absorbency levels.Once you do your research on cloth diapering you should definitely try different styles of cloth diapers to find your favorite.

AIO cloth diapers have the convenience & fit of an disposable. You don’t need to fold the diaper to get it to fit, and you don’t absolutely need to stuff an insert in for absorbency. AIO is the most popular of cloth diaper styles at the moment. After you read my review I hope you’ll see why they are widely popular.

Before we get to the review, I’d love to share with you some information about the store which sent me the AIO cloth diaper I got to test out.  Thanks Mama has a wide selection of baby products that are wonderful for the environment. I wish I knew about Thanks Mama while I was pregnant. I would have bought what I did get for my son at this online store.

Thanks Mama sent me the Thirsties Duo All In One Cloth Diaper in Ocean Color in size 2. As I’ve said earlier I wasn’t quite sure what to expect because I’ve never used an AIO before. The AIO I received came with Velcro rather the button snaps I’m accustomed to.

What makes the Thirsties Duo All in One cloth diaper unique is the what’s on the inside. Since it’s an AIO the waterproof layer and absorbency layer are sewn together. This diaper, however, has Thirsties’ signature tunnel system which means you can an additional stuffing: perfect for heavy wetters or for night time use.

Using Velcro rather than snaps made putting the diaper on my son so much easier. This diaper really did reminded me of the convenience I loved when using disposables. Leo seemed to enjoy how much faster it was for Mommy to get the diaper on his tushie.  Once I got the cloth diaper on Leo I let him on the ground to go to town in learning how to crawl.  Tummy time is Leo’s favorite thing at the moment. I imagine any day now he’ll start crawling.

Unlike my pocket diapers where I’ve had some minor set backs with leaking, The Thirsties Duo AIO was a dream. I’m a bit upset with myself I didn’t research into AIOs as well as I should have before making my first purchase. . This cloth diaper is SO MUCH EASIER than my pocket diapers. I don’t have near enough diapers for a stash yet which means I’ll have more time to pick up AIO cloth diapers. I’m adding Thirsties to my list of cloth diapers I need to buy.  With the help of Thanks Mama I’ll be able to purchase my cloth diapers at a great price.
