Can you believe the holidays are only a few months away? Christmas is only 102 days as of today. My son’s birthday is 100 days away. Where did the year go? It’s never a bad idea to start shopping for holiday gifts early. My friends and family are already beginning their holiday shopping. In the new economy families have to be mindful of their budget. At the same time there is the stress of making sure you get that special gift for someone before it’s sold out. You don’t have to go into debt buying presents for the entire family or worrying about not finding that special gift. Layaway makes it easier for families of all sizes to sensibly buy gifts. You don’t have to wait for layaway to start up at other retailers during the holiday season. Kmart has free layaway all year round. That isn’t the only benefit Kmart offers with their layaway. I am particularly in love with their online layaway. I can shop in the comfort of my home and place items in layaway from my home. Only Kmart has this feature. While looking at their website I found a few items I’d love to purchase on layaway.

At the time of this writing the new Furby’s weren’t available, but I have been wanting the new Furby when it was announced! I collected the original Furbies when I was younger. I had the tuxedo colored one. Unfortunately he was one of many items I lost in the tornado.

Lego is always popular during the holiday season. My stepson, The Pickle, has a pretty good collection of Lego in his room. Every Christmas he asks for Lego sets.

I miss my HDTV I had prior to the tornado. It was a gift I got for my husband for his birthday. We had a Samsung 42″ Class 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV I loved. If there is one material possession I want to get back is an HDTV. Kmart has a Samsung 55″ Class 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV available for layaway.

Kmart is kicking off the start of the holiday season with the Big Layaway Giveaway. This is the perfect time to shop Layaway from Kmart. During Kmart’s Big Layaway Giveaway, each week from 9/9/2012 to 11/12/2012* there will be one layaway giveaway per store. Someone will have their remaining layaway balanced paid for. I haven’t started planning my holiday shopping, however, when I begin my shopping I will keep Kmart at the top of my retailer list. Even if you don’t win you get to take advantage of Kmart’s layaway. It’s a win-win situation.

Christmas doesn’t have to be stressful. It’s suppose to be the most wonderful time of the year. Make it wonderful with Kmart’s layaway program.

This is my first time ever trying layaway, and Kmart is where I am going to try it. I would love to be one of those blessed people who gets mine paid for – but this is a new adventure for me!
