Since my son started solids when he was 4 months old because of his reflux I have been learning quite a bit about his personality. My son loves solids. I have tried various age appropriate foods and we haven’t had a single complaint. With the Leo’s teeth finally coming in (thank goodness!) I’m noticing more and more he’s trying to take food off of my plate. He also mimics chewing when he chews. It’s the cutest thing ever. I’m realizing my baby is growing up way too fast. I have a feeling we’ll be graduating from purees to solids he can chew – well sort of. Luckily I was given the opportunity to review a product which will help my son gain independence with feeding.
Kidsme is distributed in the United States solely by Baby Square. In addition to the Kidsme Food Feeder, Kidsme also has a array of products for feeding little mouths. in 2011 Kidsme Food Feeder was awarded for “Innovation & Creativity Award” by Hong Kong Awards for Industries. The idea behind Kidsme Food Feeder is genius: Create a natural feeling feeder for babies that is not only safe for little one’s mouths but can help introduce age appropriate foods at an earlier age. Kidsme Food Feeder is a significant improvement from other mesh bag feeders on the market because of its use of interchangeable silicone sacs. Silicone doesn’t harbor bacteria or lose threads like mesh which is dangerous. Since the silicone sacs used with the Kidsme Food Feeder is interchangeable you can switch to a bigger sac as your child gets older.
I really love the packaging. The packaging is vibrant, and portray what the product is about. Retrieving the feeder from within the packaging was a breeze.
The Kidsme Food Feeder resembles a pacifier with the exception of the small handles. Please note: It’s not advised to use the feeder as a pacifer. If your child is in the middle of teething like my son has been you could put in frozen fruit in the sac so your child can chew. Placing food in and locking the feeder is simple as it’s seen in my photo above. Do you see the small holes in the sac? This helps babies exercise their jaw without the feeder being a choking hazard.
If you have younger baby I recommend trying mashed or soft foods first. I wasn’t thinking and used blueberries as my first attempt with my son. Let’s just say..well.. the first attempt didn’t work so well. My son’s expression sums up how well it went!
Every time I look at that photo I laugh so hard wondering what my sound is thinking at that very moment. That expression is priceless. Haha. After 15 minutes of Leo not amused by the feeder I replaced the blueberries with one of his favorite purees.
Needless to say my son was a bit more welcoming of the Food Feeder with food he knew. After a couple of tries, Leo was able to get the feeder in his mouth. He chowed down like a champ.
Leo learned how to self feed himself using the Kidsme Food Feeder so quickly I couldn’t keep up with replacing food in the silicone sac. I will be purchasing a larger silicone sac for him. Cleaning the feeder was very easy. You’ll be happy to know the Kidsme Food Feeder is also dishwasher friendly. If you’re old fashioned like me a simple soak in the sink will do.
I am so happy I got to review Kidsme Food Feeder. I reveled in watching my son figuring out he can feed himself. It’s moments like that which make me wonder what he will learn next.
This is a product with Moms in mind. There are so many benefits any mom will find when they try out the Kidsme Food Feeder. Adorable! I wish they had these when my kids were babies. I love the idea!!
Adorable kiddo!! When my two were younger, there was a similar product out that was a mesh bag that you kept the food in. It was TERRIBLE to clean out. I think this product would be much better.. wish I had it then!
