I started somewhere. Now look at where I am.

If you’ve been following me since the very beginning, today is my blog’s 1 year anniversary. Holy crap. I didn’t know where my little ol’ blog was going to go when I created my very first post “You got to start somewhere, right?” I’ve went from being a brand new mom to a mom to a toddler. Just look at the difference in my little man:

What’s so great is how I’ve been able to share his growth with you. You’ll be proud to know he no longer has reflux. Other than having to take allergy medicine daily, Leo is always on the move. He’s always smiling. He loves it when he makes his mommy or daddy laugh. I love it too.

On February 27, 2012 I was beginning medication for PTSD. I am happy to say I have been off of Wellbutrin since January.  I am a happier person than I was a year ago. Don’t get me wrong I still have my battles, but life is getting much better. I’m also able to successfully go into movie theatres without a PTSD trigger. Although the tornado still comes up in my posts from time to time I’ve made excellent progress in moving on.

A year later and The Miracle Momma has changed so much, and quite honestly I believe it’s for the better. I feel very comfortable now that my blog has went from PTSD Mom Blog to Mommy Blog. I’ve also gotten the opportunity to work with some amazing brands. I never thought of that possibility! Did I ever dream I would have over 6,000 fans on Facebook? No. What this proves to me is hard work really pays off. I wasn’t sure back in 2012 if I would keep up with a blog.  Along the way I’ve gained great friends. I would not be where I am without them. They make my days online a joy. On the flip side, however, I’ve had to learn how to grow a really tough skin. I’ve also learned there will always be toxic people trying to bring you down when you’re most vulnerable.  It’s happened to me, and I’ve seen it happen to other bloggers. There’s always going to be people like that no matter what profession you get into.

I can’t thank each and every one of you enough for reading my blog. Thank you for being with me for this first year. It makes me so happy knowing my opinions, my recipes, my tutorials, and my life experiences are helping someone out there. I can’t wait to meet more friends as my blog continues to grow. This is probably going to sound tacky but for years I never knew what my calling was. In school I couldn’t find anything I was really interested in.  Being a professional blogger is my calling.

So what am I going to do now?  Well, more of the same stuff but I have a few goals I want to conquer:

  • Get invited to a blogger event.
  • Be sponsored for a blogging conference.
  • Reach 10,000 Fans on Facebook.
  • Reach 5,000 Followers on Twitter.
  • Continue to supplement my family with blogging income.
  • Continue to work with brands I feel passionate about.

Here’s to another great year of The Miracle Momma. Cheers!
