I Got a New Car!

It’s been such a busy week. We managed to finally find a new vehicle and I’ve had to get a new laptop set up. It’s taken a couple days to get adjusted to the new stuff. Both our old vehicle and old laptop were replacements of what we initially lost in the tornado. Our old vehicle was such a blessing at the time but it turned into a burden. Let’s just say there’s only so much you can do with a vehicle only getting 4-9mpg. I stumbled on our new car by accident. My friend Kim and I went to a local business expo earlier in the week. A conversation about cars came up and she was actually getting ready to sell her car.

Talk about luck.  Here’s a picture of our new car. For the record: It gets 26mpg.

I’m so excited about life with a decent vehicle. I haven’t been able to leave town on my own in about two years. Any time I’ve needed to leave town I’ve had to get a ride from a family member and friend. This new car is going to let us go places again. We took the car to Joplin on Friday for our wedding anniversary. Now we’ll be able to visit Joplin more often. The new car also helps in blogging too because I’ll be able to attend blogger events out of town.  It’s definitely a win for my family.

What I’ve been really struggling to adjust to is my new laptop. To give you a bit of a background on the laptop I’ve used since day 1 of my blog it was literally duct taped together. Have you ever heard of the term “lemon”? My old laptop was technically a lemon. I was stubborn to have it sent in for the 4th time and have a brand new laptop sent to me. It was literally duct taped together. I haven’t been able to shut the laptop in over a year. After some convincing by my husband I decided to go laptop shopping. I really hate change when it comes to technology even though I live for technology. Unfortunately none of the laptops I was looking at had Windows 7.  I guess it was time to try out Windows 8. If I hated it too much I could always downgrade to Windows 7.

Without further ado I want to introduce to you my new laptop. Everything I do for my blog, my designs, and other shenanigans will be happening from this very computer. Windows 8 is definitely different from what I’m used to but I’m starting to like it a little.

So the fate of old laptop? It’s going to be used as a backup until it finally stops working. Thankfully I made a backup.

Even when I get a used car for a new car, it feel’s like paradise. Of course the kid’s don’t understand, but they know what the alternative is to riding in my car, lol, you better flintstone it!!! Congrats!

  2. I hope you have great luck with your “new” pontiac as I have had with mine. I still have the grand prix that I got when I first got my license- 10 years ago and it still gets descent milage and has never let me down or cost me majoy in repairs- only normal maintance stuff. When she finally dies I will probably just get a newer version of the same thing :)
