Ever have a craving for something you know you shouldn’t really have. Let’s say you just had lunch and you suddenly had a hunkering for jalapeno poppers or a pizza? What about Baby Back Ribs?
Well I’m here to tell you there is a company that can help satisfy your cravings without a lot of guilt. Herr’s Snack Foods has a flavor for almost every occasion. From Loaded Baked Potatoes to Classic American Hot Dogs you will not be disappointed in their variety. Herr’s Snack Foods has been providing delightful snacks since 1946. I was given the opportunity from Herr’s to sample 7 unique flavors: Deep Dish Pizza, Fire Roasted Sweet Corn, Ragin’ Ranch, Sloppy Joe, Classic American Hot Dot, Sweet Onion, and Heinz Ketchup Potato Chips. My husband helped me with sampling each one.
As a woman on a diet I appreciate the various flavors. I have days where my favorite tomato, mozzarella, avocado, and basil salad just doesn’t satisfy me. A couple hours later I’m craving a burger, or pizza. It’s not because I’m a plus size girl I crave these foods: it’s because food is good. I won’t deny that. I’m actually not a potato chip type of person, however, if I can have a single serving of potato chips that taste like something I’m craving I would much rather compensate than ruin my diet. Let’s get on to the flavors, shall we?
Deep Dish Pizza – This puff has to be the closest to any pizza flavor snacked I have ever tried. Deep Dish Pizza tasted like a deep dish cheese pizza. My husband immediately fell in love. My only complaint, and this is the same complaint I have for other puffs, is that puffs are really messy. It’s a nature of that particular snack.
Fire Roasted Sweet Corn – What an interesting flavor! I was expecting these chips to be spicy but they’re the opposite. I personally couldn’t taste the difference of the sweet corn being “fire roasted” but they were delicious. If you love corn on the cob as much as I do you will be pleasantly surprised.
Ragin’ Ranch – Ragin’ Ranch has a strong ranch flavor. I’m thinking about using Ragin’ Ranch, in addition to Sweet Onion, as a crunchy topping for one of my casseroles.
Sloppy Joe – Sloppy Joe is my personal favorite. This little potato chip tasted exactly like a sloppy joe. I will be purchasing Sloppy Joe in the future.
Classic American Hot Dog – This happened to be my least favorite out of all of the flavors. I would love to taste more hot dog than ketchup, mustard, and relish mixed together. Herr’s is still remarkably close to an actual hot dog, and for that I give them kudos. I wonder if Herr’s will venture into other hot dog flavors such as Chicago, or New York Style hot dogs one day.
Sweet Onion – I love onions, and this chip does not disappoint. It has the perfect balance of sweetness without an overpowering onion flavor.
Heinz Ketchup Potato Chip – Heinz Ketchup Potato Chip is my second personal favorite. At first I was grossed out at the thought of ketchup potato chips. After I gave these chips a try, however, I was reminded of ketchup & fries. Heinz Ketchup has a certain sweetness I can’t describe unlike other ketchup I have used in the past.
My husband has been telling his friends he could easily make himself a complete meal out of the different flavor of chips he sampled. I can see where he is coming from. I’ve never had a potato chip taste nearly identical to one of my favorite foods before. If you’re a snack food junkie or you’re looking for a way to enjoy foods you just don’t get to eat as much as you might want consider purchasing one of Herr’s Snacks wide variety of snacks. You can purchase Herr’s in stores (I’d call and ask your local store to make sure) or you can purchase them off of their website.
If you’re near Nottingham, PA you might even want to consider taking free tour of the Herr’s Snacks Factory. You can even have your child’s birthday party there: they’ll even supply the cake!
