Happy Labor Day! Are you enjoying your 3 day weekend? The remnants of Hurricane Isaac almost put a damper on our weekend but luckily the rain cleared out just in time. We decided to go to a local Labor Day festival celebrating the town’s European heritage. I was unaware of how much European heritage there is in this little college town.

Because of the rain a lot of the events were cancelled. There was still a petting zoo, however, and we took advantage of going. It’s not everyday a you get to see zebras, camels, goats, and a bunch of other cute animals.

I am so thankful for the Chewbeads bangle that was in the Citrus Lane box.. It was Leo’s  best friend the entire time.

Ian got to pet a camel. Isn’t the little guy cute? There was a much older camel they had available for camel rides, but riding something that tall didn’t bode well for any of us.

Ian had loads of fun at the petting zoo. It’s nice seeing him outside enjoying the outdoors.

My husband took this picture and it has to be one of the funnier pictures we have of Leo. I keep imaging Leo saying “What up, Homies?” every time I look at this picture.

After we browsed the street with the remaining vendors left we dropped off the kids with my parents. There was a street dance that looked like it would be a blast. The street dance got cancelled due to the rain but the musicians were moved to another venue. My husband lucked out this time. Someday I’ll get him to dance.

After we got home both the kids were asleep so we did something we’ve wanted to do for a very long time. That’s right.. we watched Doctor Who. Were you expecting me to say something different?

We had a wonderful time despite of the rain. I hope next year we won’t have the rain. I was really looking forward to the other festivities I had planned for us to attend.
