putting on makeup Most women do not have hours to get ready in the morning.  Whether they are busy moms, hardworking professionals, or both, it can be easy to run out of time in the morning.  When time is short, it can be just as easy to shortchange yourself by cutting out some of the beauty routines that you used to perform to make you feel confident and beautiful.  There is no need to do that, however.   With four easy steps and in less than 10 minutes, any woman can quickly transform her appearance with just a little bit of know-how and some make-up.

Step One: Skin

Always start with clean skin that is moisturized.  If you want to save as much time as possible in the mornings, try applying your moisturizer at night before you go to bed.  The next step is to brighten your entire appearance by evening out your skin tone with a sheer liquid foundation.  Apply the foundation with a makeup sponge that is lightly dampened.  Dab a little concealer on dark circles or blemishes.  Finish with a quick powder or highlighter applied with a large makeup brush.  To further streamline your makeup routine, look for products that are made to be a foundation, concealer, and powder in one.

Step Two: Eyes

Wake up tired eyes with a few well-chosen cosmetics.  Quickly line your eyelids using an eyeliner pencil in brown or black.  Smudge the line with your finger to blend it slightly.  If you have time, add a little neutral color eye shadow to your lids.  Skip this step altogether if you are crunched for time and jump to mascara.  Don’t forget to take 30 seconds to curl your eyelashes with an eyelash curler before applying a dark mascara to open and draw attention to your eyes.

Step Three: Cheeks

Nothing perks up a tired complexion like a quick application of blush.  Start by using a powder brush to apply blush to the center of your cheeks and then blend outward toward your temples.  Keep the application light and use a blush that is only slightly darker than your skin tone to give a natural looking flush to your complexion.

Step Four: Lips

Complete the look by applying lipstick or lip gloss.  When time is short, skip the lip liner and simple swipe on your favorite shade of lipstick.  If you kept your eye makeup subtle, go ahead and choose a bold lip color that will brighten your entire face.  If you went a little heavier on the eyes, stick with a light lipstick or gloss so that your eyes and lips don’t have to compete for attention.

Streamline your morning routine even more by keeping all of your makeup in a makeup box or basket that is easy to find.  This will eliminate the need to search for your essential items.  In addition, spend a little time pampering yourself in the evenings or on weekends so that you don’t neglect tasks like tweezing your eyebrows or exfoliating your skin.  A little advance preparation can make getting ready in the morning much easier.  In no time, you can be out the door and ready for your day looking and feeling great.
