I love making candy for the holidays. I might not be making any candy for myself but I love the idea of making goodies for others. At my family’s Christmas event I will be giving Holiday Bark to everyone. It’s easy to make and won’t break the bank. Credit goes to Sadie from Slap Dash Mom for inspiration! Check out her site for delicious bark recipes such as White Chocolate Coffee Bark and Chocolate Peppermint Bark.
Easy Holiday Bark Recipe
- 1 Brick Vanilla Almond Bark
- Nestle Holiday Morsels
- M&M’s Minis Baking Bits (Red & Green)
- Crushed Candy Canes
- Wax Paper
- Cookie Sheet
Melt the Almond Bark according to directions. When melted pour into a cookie sheet and spread into a thin layer.
Sprinkle Holiday Morsels, M&M Minis, and the crushed candy canes before the almond bark begins to get firm. There’s no “right” way to make these. What’s great is bark candy is never the same. It’s one of the best homemade candies out there.
Wait for almond bark to cool off and become firm. I let mine sit out at room temperature for 30 minutes but you can pop the cookie sheet into the refrigerator to get the candy cooler quicker (about 5-10 minutes, maybe?)
Once the bark candy is completely cooled and firm break it up into pieces. I found breaking it with my hands was the easiest. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container or zippy bag. Because I’m in the holiday spirit I’m storing this batch of bark candy in a wrapped tin. I’m sure my husband will thank me later!
