Dinners with a toddler and part time 8 year old can be rough. Leo became quite the picky eater over the last months. Foods that he used to like are suddenly on the floor. Days of the my son eating practically anything are gone. It was good while it lasted. Finding balance between family meals is almost near impossible at my house now. Almost all meals I make for the kiddos are separate because of their tastes.  Leo has been the biggest offender, but he’s at that stage.

It was time for a new game plan. I went to my local Sam’s Club to try Tyson Homestyle Chicken Fries. I also got the opportunity to attend a demo for the product! You can check out my entire shopping trip HERE. Tyson Homestyle Chicken Fries are exclusive to Sam’s Club and come in a 3.5lb bag. I learned from the demo that Tyson Homestyle Chicken Fries are ready in 3 minutes in the microwave. Tyson Homestyle Chicken Fries are made with all white meat chicken.  I got to try half a chicken fry with a dollop of ketchup. It was pretty tasty!

We were supposed to have Ian over when I bought these in hopes he could try Homestyle Chicken Fries too, but opening games of baseball got in the way. With the 3.5lb bag I will have more than enough for the next weekend he comes over though. 3.5lb pounds in chicken fries is a pretty big bag.

The possibilities are endless with recipes. Wraps, quesadillas, and salads are perfect ideas. Since I just have my little guy to please I did what I do best: Simple toddler meals.

I’m not the most creative, but I feel pretty accomplished with Leo’s dinner. Take a look at my work of art:

chicken-fries-omg Yeah.. it’s not perfect, but it’s cute! All I want is for my picky toddler to eat. It was time for the test. What was Leo going to think of dinner?

First he had to ham it up. Then he started to explore Tyson Homestyle Chicken Fries. It wasn’t until I showed him how to dip his fries in the ketchup he really became interested. I guess like mother like son. That’s how the saying goes, right?

I can’t wait until I try some other recipes using Tyson Homestyle Chicken Fries. For the moment I’m going to enjoy this dinner time as Chicken Fry Time. This meal, as simple as it is, was the most interest Leo has shown in about a month.

  1. We try to avoid “freezer food”, but that looks good. And by looks good I mean “Holy crap lunch in the microwave would be AWESOME!” :)
