LEGO® has been apart of my family since I met my husband. My husband loved his LEGO® collection since he was a kid. He loved it so much he gave his entire collection to my stepson Ian. We lost both my husband’s and Ian’s LEGO® collection It has been a long road in replacing my stepson’s LEGO® collection, but we are getting close. Just this past Christmas we were able to get him another set. Ian has been eyeballing LEGO® Millenium Falcon ship. We’re saving up to get him one for his birthday in March. Thank goodness Ian doesn’t read my blog!
LEGO® has really evolved to meet the needs of boys and girls. There is now LEGO® Friends (designed for girls), and LEGO® Duplo (designed for toddlers). I plan on buying LEGO® Duplo for Leo soon. I think it’d be cute to watch Leo and Ian play with their LEGO® toys.
You know what else my stepson loves beside LEGO®? Videos. Oh my goodness. He is always asking to watch videos online. Who would have figured a 7 year old would be so tech savvy? I know I wasn’t when I was his age. So when I found out LEGO® had a brand new Youtube Channel filled with hours (over 500 videos!) of family friendly videos I knew I had to let Ian and my husband know. I’m always a fan of finding videos for kids.
Did you know you can make playlists on Youtube? Playlists make it easy for you to create a video experience for you and your children. LEGO® created an infographic to follow on how making your own playlist is easy peasy.
Ian loved being able to make his own playlist. You can check out the videos he added here. My favorite video on his playlist is The LEGO Story. I think I’m going to create my own LEGO® playlist too. That way anytime we’re in a bind and need to pass some time I can easily give Ian my smart phone and let him watch videos on the playlist. You would think the large age difference between my son (1 year) and Ian (7 years) wouldn’t be that bad, but it can definitely be challenging when you have a curious toddler and an always energetic 7 year old. Although I am a stay at home mom I consider myself also a work at home mom. It can be difficult to find time to be able to get everything I need to complete online and meet the demands of my family. Not that it’s a demand but it can be exhausting to keep up a toddler and a child. Thankfully there are family friendly brands like LEGO® who provide educational and creative entertainment for children of all ages.
If you haven’t yet. Go check out everything LEGO® has to offer on their YouTube channel. You never know. You might just create a playlist for your family too.
