Christmas really isn’t that far away. There are only a few short months until the holiday, and shopping season is beginning shortly. We should all have a little bit of Christmas spirit all year round if you ask me! Last Christmas we weren’t able to celebrate because I gave birth to my son on December 23. I was discharged from the hospital on Christmas only to return to the hospital the next day because of an epidural headache. I missed Christmas, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, and my birthday. I want to make up last year by making sure my son’s first birthday AND Christmas is the best it can be.
During Christmas the food seems to have a little more “love” put into it or is it just Christmas cheer? Either way the results are delicious. Keeping up with Christmas can be busy & stressful. In addition to making Christmas dinner most people have family get togethers, pot lucks, school recitals, and a plethora of other activities. The food you make should not have to be an added stress. Lots of wonderful and tasty ideas. Congrats on your almost 1 year old. My oldest son who will be 11 was also born on Dec 23. We have a tradition of watching Xmas vacation the night before his birthday every year. Since we were watching it when I went into labor with him.
My daughter was born on 12/20/11 so we made it home on 12/24, but I too went back to the hospital the day after Christmas for a second blood patch due to an epidural headache. I wouldn’t wish that pain on my worst enemy. I can’t believe it’s been a year already! Now I’m trying to figure out how to do a first bday party without rolling it into our Christmas celebration.
We’re going to throw Leo’s 1st Birthday Party on the 15th. His party theme is Rubber Duckies. That’s the closest away from Christmas I can think of!
