Did you know 1.8 billion people live in extreme poverty? These families live off of $1.50 or less for food their entire day every day.Let’s take a look at some items we purchase from the grocery store.

Soda – $1.59 a 2liter
Ramen – $0.88
Milk – $3.48 a gallon
Vegetables – Range anywhere from $0.25 or higher
Fruits – $0.33 or higher.
Ground Beef – $3.50 a pound
Bread – $1.77 a loaf
Bottled Water – $0.75 a bottle

With $1.50 a day you wouldn’t be able to purchase, let alone survive, a day’s worth of meals. Billions of families survive on $1.50 or less on food everyday. This is REAL. This is unacceptable. Could you imagine living on $1.50 a day?

I am taking the Live Below the Line Challenge. From May 7 – 11th I will eat $7.50 worth of food the entire week to raise awareness of extreme poverty.. I am also fundraising for UNICEF to support the children in Sahel, Africa. There are over a million children in Sahel alone facing starvation. UNICEF has saved millions of children’s lives by providing children with health care, clean water, nutrition, education, and emergency relief. Help me help UNICEF save the children of Sahel from starvation & death. I am challenging myself to raise $200 for UNICEF. Can you help me get to that goal? Any amount you donate will go a long way in helping these children. Click on the banner below to go to my campaign page.
